From Crisis to Courage: Journey with Musasa
Musasa Project has transformed thousands of lives, offering safety, dignity, and a path to healing for women and girls escaping gender-based violence.
One powerful story comes from a survivor who accessed Musasa’s mobile one-stop center in Chipinge. She had endured years of abuse and was left without support for her children. Through Musasa’s intervention, she received legal assistance for child maintenance, psychosocial support, and shelter. Today, her children are cared for, and she has begun rebuilding her life with renewed confidence and stability.
In just six months, Musasa supported over 20,000 survivors—with 2,834 women housed in shelters, 6,488 cases handled at static centers, and 2,050 at mobile centers. These numbers reflect not just service delivery, but deep, life-altering impact. Survivors often arrive in crisis and leave with tools for independence, emotional healing, and legal empowerment.
Musasa’s shelters are more than safe spaces—they’re launchpads for transformation. Survivors receive counseling, legal aid, and economic empowerment support, including training and access to income-generating projects. Many go on to become advocates themselves, helping others escape cycles of violence.
